GET TO KNOW THE ANIMAL CARE NETWORK (ACN)

The Animal Care Network (ACN) is a unique program that focuses on two communities that both share many challenges with dogs and cats.  ACN volunteers have been on the streets for 16 years.

ACN services include:

  • Dog and cat rescue
  • Delivering dog houses, straw, food, water, collars
  • Low cost vaccine clinics
  • Low cost spay/neuter clinics
  • Animal pick-ups, rescue and trapping
  • Community education for adults and children

Educating children on proper pet care

The network receives over 100 calls a week for stray cats and kittens.

Volunteers offering much needed relief.

A TAIL OF TWO CITIES: PONTIAC

ACN recently responded to a complaint about two severely matted poodles.  After forming a relationship with the poodles' owner, the two dogs were groomed. ACN also followed up to make sure the male and female dog were spayed and neutered.

A TAIL OF TWO CITIES: INKSTER

During a blizzard, the ACN received a call about a cat that was stuck on the top of a telephone pole.  ACN volunteers immediately tracked down two good Samaritans with a lift box!  They reported that if the cat had moved, she would have been electrocuted!
